Next Generation Wired Networking Standard Approved

More than 190 countries have approved G.hn as the universal technology standard for delivering content across all wires - power  lines, coax, and phone lines at the ITU-T meeting held in Geneva.

All three components of the new standard including the Data Link Layer (G.9961), Physical Layer (G.9960) and coexistence protocol (G.9972) are now complete. This development continues to enhance and support FDN's ability to provide a single standard to its customers for wired networks.

"The evolution of a common standard is crucial for service providers, electronics manufacturers, content providers and will enable our customers to take advantage of new technologies and business opportunities. Through this one global standard, consumers will be able to connect and share content of all types over any wire and our customers can develop new business models for wired networking and energy management" says Freedom Digital Networks' Business Development Manager Mark Lewis.
