Wi-Fi connectivity for their English Heritage site
Ealing Borough Council approached Freedom Digital Networks (FDN) to help them resolve their connectivity issues for their beautiful town hall site.
The Ealing Town Hall is a stunning English Heritage site with the same type of challenges FDN are used to dealing with in this type of listed buildings - Thick walls not allowing for Wi-Fi penetration and a listed status removing the opportunity to run cabling systems.
By using Power Line Communication (PLC), FDN were able to inject a broadband signal onto the electrical infrastructure of the building allowing the council to simply plug wireless access points into each of the areas spread across this vast campus to provide full Wi-Fi coverage.
This allowed the council to make better use of the facilities available by turning a number of rooms into new offices and others into public Wi-Fi zones to help the local community.
The FDN solution removed all the planning delays from the project and gave full access while protecting the historic nature of the building.
