Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) communications
Freedom Digital Networks were co-sponsors at the SUT Subsea Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) conference in Newcastle (June 2nd & 3rd). This international biennial conference was aimed at those companies engaged in remote control and monitoring of sub sea systems and provide a unique forum for suppliers and operators.
A key issue for this industry is the increasing volume of data flowing between a growing range of data points. FDN introduced "wide band" Power Line Communications to delegates to highlight the potential this technology offers through both reduced infrastructure deployment and enhanced service provision.
FDN's latest firmware is designed to create a "mesh" network of up to 300 nodes in a single network, and can be used for a range of "telemetry like" applications, controlling those over the power network.
Customer applications ranging from Condition Based Maintenance to Asset Tracking can be quickly and easily deployed.
